Crew Leader Mike Lynch in the Logistics Office. Crew Advisors, Mr. Bowie, Mr. Bailey & Mr. Kollar on the Tooth of Time.
With our Philmont Ranger, Bren Schmidt, outside the Logistics Building. Bren's job was to get us through the first 3 days of our expedition. The first day was spent getting us through the check-in procedures, getting our tents, trail equipment, trail food, meals tickets, and conducting our final "shake-down". The next two days were spent on the trail where he taught us the backcountry procedures for camping, cooking, and personal hygiene.
After a brief storm and dinner in the Dining Hall, we attended the "Welcome Campfire" where our Crew Leader was given an American Flag to carry on the Trek.
After the show, we headed back to our tents to get a good night's rest, because tomorrow, we hit the trail!
