Day 4 - French Henry & Copper Park
The next day we continued west on the trail toward on next program center, French Henry. The trail gradually increased in elevation, but seemed to be hugging a ridge line. It took us a couple of hours to get there. When we arrived at about 9:00 a.m., it looked liked we were the FIRST to reach the center that morning. We started by helping the staff person to stoke up the coals. We were introduced to the tools of the trade and proceeded to make a screw, or a nail, or something like that!
And, if you hit the anvil directly with your hammer, you had to kneel down and apologize to it.
Then came our lesson in Gold-Panning. Off we went to see if we could hit the "mother load"! No such luck today.
