Camp TriMount
This Boy Scout camp, nestled in the heart of the Catskills Mountains, is part of the Rip Van Winkle Council. It was the first time that our Troop visited this historic camp, located off of Exit 20 of the New York State Thruway. We spent 2 nights in tents perched on platforms in a rugged campsite. During the day on Saturday, we hiked an easy, but scenic, trail in the Catskills. Some of the boys practiced lighting a backpacking stove on the trail. We had a very friendly camp ranger who opened up the camp trading post for the scouts later that evening. All the participants enjoyed the visit and recommended that the Troop return for a future visit.
