Escarpment Trail
North-South Lake Area in the Catskills
Several of our older scouts and leaders spent a backpacking weekend in the Catskills. The weather was cool but not uncomfortable. We hiked a 10 mile loop and saw some spectacular views of the Hudson valley. We spent the night in our backpacking tents, last used in Philmont. We practiced our outdoor cooking skills and had a terrific experience in the Fall foliage.

We hung a "bear bag" at night to protect our breakfast we cooked the following morning.
