Community Service
A community service project is a special Good Turn that puts Scout spirit into action.
Scouts working toward 2nd Class need 1 Hour.
Scouts working toward Star must do 6 hours.
Scouts working toward Life must do 6 hours.
And of course, the Eagle Scout Project needed for the Rank of Eagle.
ALL Community Service Hours MUST be approved by the Scoutmaster BEFORE you start them. If you don't, you may be wasting your time and energy.
Community Service is defined as:
1. Service to a not-for-profit organization, community or a government agency.
2. Cannot be for the Boy Scouts.
3. Cannot be something that the organization normally pays someone to do (i.e. don't take a person's job away).
4. There must be a need.
5. It must not involve payment for services.
