Philadelphia & Valley Forge Trip
Over the Easter break, we camped at Camp Delmont, BSA in Green Lane, Pennsylvania. After the 4 hour drive, we set up our campsite, explored the campground and cooked dinner. The next day, we drove into Philadelphia to hike the Heritage Trail, which included the Liberty Bell, Independence Hall, Christ's Church and the Betsy Ross House. On our return trip home, we stopped and toured the Valley Forge Historical Park. We saw Washington's Headquarters, the Memorial Chapel and plenty of the replica huts along the 5 mile hike. Kudos to our adults drivers, who managed not to get lost on the Pennsylvania Interstate Highways, despite Mr. Bailey's driving!

We toured the inside of Independence Hall.
We had a wonderful presentation at Christ's Church. They had just celebrated their 308th consecutive Easter Sunday service! The church also contains a wooden Baptismal Font that dates back 600 years!
At Valley Forge...
The huts are replicas of the huts that George Washington's Continental Army had to construct to survive the winter of 1777-1778, before the start of the next campaign against the British.
