All Scouts and Leaders must take the Swim Qualifications if they wish to be in the water during the week. All must swim 100 yards. The first 75 yards must be done using a forward stroke like the "free-style", breast stroke or side stroke. NO "doggie-paddle" is allowed. The last 25 yards must be done using the "elementary backstroke". Lastly, you must float on your back for one minute.
The Lifeguards then issue, later in the day, the Swim Tags which represent a "Non-Swimmer", "Beginner", or "Swimmer" ability.
