Alpine Hiking

26 Scouts and 10 adults spent the weekend of November 21-23, 2003 at Camp Alpine, BSA. The highlight of the weekend was the spectacular hiking afforded us on the New York-New Jersey Conference Trails - the White Shore Trail and the Green Trail, also known as the "Long Path". Scouts and Leaders attending Philmont in 2004 hiked this trail as an execise for Philmont. Out and back measured around 8.5 miles.

The hike begins by leaving the Scout Camp and climbing up to the overpasses which cross over Route 9W and the Palisades Parkway. Within minutes, you're on the White Trail.

We're at one of the "Overlooks" and a great view of the Hudson River.
