NYC Historical Trail
On December 13, 2003 several Scouts, Leaders, and Parents travelled into lower Manhattan to hike the Old New York Historical Trail compiled by the Man-A-Hattin Lodge 82 of the Order of the Arrow. We had a cold, sunny day on the trail which began at Saint Mark's-in-the-Bowery Church at Second Avenue and 10th Street and ended at the South Street Seaport. Along the trail, we saw many historical landmarks and made a side trip to the former site of the World Trade Center.
Some of our crew in front of the statue of George Washington at Federal Hall.
The "old" St. Patrick's Cathedral and Confucius in Chinatown.
Passing the Brooklyn Bridge and City Hall.
At Washington Square Park.
Looking out to the Statue of Liberty from Battery Park.
Visiting the New York Vietnem Veteran's Memorial Wall.
Watching Helicopters at the Eastside Heliport and stopping at the "India House".
The New York Stock Exchange all decked out for the Holidays!
Walking up Nassau Street near the end of the trail.
Later that day, we went uptown to see "The Tree" at
Rockefeller Center before heading home.
