West Hills County Park Campout
The Troop spent the weekend of January 17-18, 2004 at West Hills County Park, just off Round Swamp Road on the Nassau-Suffolk line. As we have in the past, we used the large shelter located on the camporee field near the middle of the park.
The boys brushed up on their orienteering skills, played football on the snow covered field, cut MUCH firewood, and enjoyed a feast prepared by Greg, Mr. Klein & Mr. Kollar. We slept on the floor of the shelter warmed by the two large hearths located in the corners of the room.
