Belleayre Ski Trip
On February 17, 2004, we took our first ski trip to Belleayre Mountain in upstate New York. We spent 2 days on the mountain and 2 nights at the Belleayre Hostel located just 5 minutes away. We had 22 Scouts, adults and friends attend. The skiing was terrific! The first day was sunny and warm, the second was cloudy with a light snow falling in the morning. There were NO lines at the lifts, so the boys got the maximum out of the 34 trails available to them!
The back and side of the Discovery Lodge.
Mrs. Weiss with the boys and then off to the lift!
David tries to convince his Mom to take the Black Diamond Trail!
Mike on skis and Robert on the snowboard.
Greg adjust his boots before returning to the slopes.
The lift on the Yahoo Trail took you to the top of the moutain.
Our home away from home - the Bunkhouse at the Belleayre Hostel. There were 3 rooms on the bottom floor and 2 upstairs, all very cozy. Scouts will remember the "sleep sacks" and the brown tap water. (Just clay in the soil up there)
They had a very nice rec building though!
